Ashiqur Rahman is based in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His ancestral home is in a remote village in Bangladesh. He is not a photographer by profession. Often dwelling in the greens of the countryside, Ashiqur keeps his diaries through photographs. He writes poetry. He is an ardent lover of world cinema and is greatly influenced by theworks of Abbas Kiarostami, Andrei Tarkovsky, and Lav Diaz.
